Once again it’s the time for the American President, Mr. Barack Obama, to visit Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The White House in Washington D.C scheduled his tour in November 2010 to open the newly built American Consulate at Hyderabad. Mr. K. Rosaiah, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh would take the privilege of interacting with the President. Unlike the other American Presidents, Mr. Barack Obama visited India before also. He visited the families of his college friends in India and Pakistan for three weeks in 1981. Obama believes in Indian God Lord Hanuman and he also carried His idol with him in the presidential campaign 2008. The Indian people are also very much excited about the forthcoming Obama’s visit to India. The Information Technology (IT) development is the major factor for the bonding between American Presidents and Andhra Pradesh. It will be the third time of American President visiting Hyderabad in this decade, 2000-2010. Hyderabad takes the competitive advantage among other big cities of India in attracting the American Presidents with its resources. It is hopeful that the White House staff would make the American president’s visit to Hyderabad mandatory in the future which in turn would enhance the Information Technology to flourish in Hyderabad. to be continued....... Add Comment On 3rd March, 2006, Air Force One landed in the Heart of Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. The American President, Mr. George Bush and the first lady, Laura Bush arrived in Hyderabad. Mr. Y.S. Raja Shekar Reddy, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, greeted the couple and accompanied them. The President met rural handloom weavers and asked about their lifestyle. The President explored National Seed Project at Acharya N G Ranga University, Hyderabad. They also visited the Indian School of Business (ISB) and interacted with the business students and young entrepreneurs. They discussed about the strategic roles to be played by the two countries, India and U.S.A in the future. Mr. Bush said “Yes” to the opening of new American Consulate, a much awaited dream of the people of Andhra Pradesh. The President understood the demands of the public and Non- Resident Indians in opening a new consulate at Hyderabad. The first lady, Laura Bush, attended social awareness programs with the local people of the state. to be continued....... In the last decade, the day of 24th March 2000 remains as an historical moment for the people of Andhra Pradesh, India. The President of the United States of America visited South India for the first time in the history. The American President, Mr. Bill Clinton made a visit to Hyderabad, the capital city of Andhra Pradesh, the 400 year historic city. It was the time when Hyderabad was transforming itself into an Information and Technological hub with the Fortune 500 companies. Mr. N. Chandrababu Naidu, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, accompanied and interacted with the President about the development of technology. A seminar was held in the Hi-Tech City on the theme “India & USA: Leaders in Science &Technology”. The projects like Janmabhoomi (a social welfare program), establishment of Indian Institute of Information and Technology (IIIT) and Indian School of Business (ISB) were also discussed.
