Orkut “Bom sabado” 09/25/2010
![]() © Google Inc “Bom sabado” is a different type of worm spread on Orkut, a popular social networking website. It is owned by Google Inc. “Bom Sabado” means Good Saturday in Portuguese language. Orkut is the primary social networking website in Brazil and India. This worm infects the profile of the Orkut users who receives the “Bom sabado” message (commonly called as scrap in Orkut language). This worm came out due to the Cross site scripting (XSS) in the website applications. This hit the majority of the Orkut profiles on September 25th 2010. Google asked the Orkut users to say away from it until the engineers fix it. The worms come and hit your friend’s profiles without your knowledge. The settings of the person including the cookies are tracked and changed. It allows the people to join the unwanted communities created by the other users. These worms are developed to hack or steal the credentials of the people using the social networking sites. The Cross site scripting allows attackers to evade client-side safety mechanisms and imposed malicious scripts into the webpages. It is also called the code injection. The user creates the scripts in his known technology and injects to the popular websites. Beware of the unauthorized websites, links that come to you. Clear all the cookies in the regular intervals.
