Opportunities for developing countries 10/08/2010
![]() The world is the eye witness for subsequent milestones of the digital revolution. E-Commerce is slowly leaning towards the products and services that are being transacted over the internet. The usage of internet has become a positive advantage for the e-commerce in the recent years. India, with its manual power and software reputation, stands ahead in the competition among all the Third World nations. The developing countries’ services are extensively being used by the advanced nations as the potential fields offering low-priced and efficient e-commerce services. These nations must concentrate on the interconnection of networks within the country and outside the country. They should develop the information infrastructures for the growth of online internet businesses and the creation of new software jobs. Only 20 percent of the companies in developing nations are currently implementing e-commerce, and CEO’s of all multi-national companies rated e-commerce as crucial for their business strategy and growth. Electronic Commerce is allowing the Indian companies to enter the international market. The lack of technology consciousness like the short and long term advantages, and the nonexistence of a regulatory structure are reducing the degree of technological development in India. E-Commerce is becoming a powerful tool through which anybody can sell their products worldwide and this can in turn, boost the economy. Improvement of the infrastructure of the country provides the job opportunities for the millions of people. This breaks the long-standing tradition of barriers in the developing countries. There are many advantages for the companies in the developed countries such as cheap labor and low investment costs. ![]() The government organizations of the developing countries must focus on these long term issues like infrastructure to compete with rest of the world. By allocating sufficient funds for the future action plan in the fields of telecommunications and broadband infrastructure for rural areas can give life to the e-commerce. In the long-run, this provides many benefits like increase in per capita income. E-Commerce gives a breakthrough to the small and medium companies in developing countries to show their potentiality worldwide and therefore contribute more actively in such e-commerce projects. The countries like India has a wide range of traditional segments such as wooden works, textiles, handicrafts , crafts, art, gold works, herbal medication, etc. which had unsuccessful experiences in the earlier periods in accessing the international markets due to their deficiency in marketing. If the proper marketing techniques are adopted for these traditional goods, a new era would begin in the trade history of India. Add Comment Will Apple be fully eaten by someone? No!!! 04/13/2010
![]() © Apple Inc This is the thought that Steve Jobs, CEO of Apple got a few years back. Apple always stands for its different nature. Early from the history, Apple maintained that difference and that difference protected the Apple from going to other mouths. It created its own machine, own operating system (Macintosh), own applications for its Mac lovers. It gave a strong competition to market leaders by bringing sweat out of them. Slowly it changed the track towards music from computing and introduced I-Pod and I-Tunes. It changed the entire music industry by selling individual songs from album for 99 cents rather than buying the entire album. It launched I-Phone and captured the mobile market with its distinctive features rather than calling. The latest release is I-Pad, which fills the gap between smart phone and a laptop, Apple sold 300,000 in a day. The 9.7 inch touch screen allows you to do all the things which you want. Coming attractions by Apple are really mind-blowing. It is on the way to develop a new processor, new ad-revenue system, without depending on others. The secret is that Apple focused on developing its own hardware rather than software applications. This is the beauty of Apple and also the fear of biting the Apple by someone is making it successful. Hyundai Plant - World's Most Advanced Plant 03/19/2010
![]() © Hyundai Motor Company USA As a part of my course work, I have been to visit Hyundai Auto Manufacturing plant in Montgomery Alabama. It was a huge car manufacturing plant which manufactures two models, the Sonata and Santa Fe. Chung Mong-Koo, Chairman of Hyundai invested $1.4 billion for this plant. It had its land break on 12th April 2002 and opened in May 2005. It is widely spread on 1744 acres of land with stamping facility, welding, painting, engine shop and a two mile race track for testing. Nearly 2700 people are employed to produce 1200 cars per day. Hyundai means modern in Korean. Hyundai contributed to numerous donations to organizations from 2006. The 45 minute tour starts from the stamping shop where the base individual parts are made like doors, roof and body. They are moved to a welding shop by a conveyer belt. Everything is automated here with robots. Robot takes 45 seconds for each car to weld its parts. After welding, the car moves to the painting shop. Hyundai uses eco friendly elements in the paints and apply it with robots. It is resistant to all daily used chemicals and with stand with all types of climate conditions. Finally, the engine, dashboard, seats and all accessories are fixed and go to testing in the 2, mile race court. Quality is checked in every step from starting. Now the vehicle is ready to serve the customers. 65% of the parts are brought from Seoul and assembled here. Hyundai uses the just in time manufacturing process. It says that the success lies within the happiness of the employees. It is the world’s most advanced automotive plant. I enjoyed this tour. You too can plan for the tour by visiting its website.
